Following in the footsteps of her talented parents, Peg Stockton
began playing the piano at the age of four. She continued to
study throughout her early years while performing in concerts
and earning high honors in competitions. She has performed as a
soloist and accompanist, taught elementary music education, and
devoted many volunteer and paid hours to establishing and
developing music programs. |

Since 2003, Peg has studied at the University of Texas at
Arlington with Dr. John Solomons,
soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Spain,
France, and Italy, and prize winner in the Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev
International Piano Competition and the AMSA World Piano
Competition.
Peg developed her passion for music theory under the
leadership and enthusiasm of Dr. Graham Hunt, whose publications
include articles in Opera Quarterly, Wagner,
Methodology of Music Research, 19th-century Music Review,
and Music Theory Spectrum.
Peg began teaching theory during her UTA
academic career, and she continues her more than 25 years of
private piano instruction. Peg is a member of the Ft. Worth
Music Teacher’s Association, Texas Music Teacher’s
Association, Music Teacher’s National Association, Society
for Music Theory, and Texas Society for Music Theory.
